On Aflatoun Day (this year it is 20th of March) we celebrate the power of financial education to positively affect the lives of children and young people, enabling them to create a sustainable future. This is marked during Global Money Week, an initiative from Child & Youth Finance International to teach children how to handle money. It promises to be a beautiful day and perfect opportunity to shine a light on financial education by linking children and young people across the world for a conversation about money.

In Aflatoun, we do this by organising global exchange between various Aflatoun classes – during online calls and meetings. From Malaysia to Colombia, from Swasiland to Portugal, pupils will discuss the importance of saving, planning for the future and when financial education. Additionally various celebrations will take place across the world, to celebrate this day, stimulate each other, but also to raise money for school projects and mini enterprises.
This year, we asked our partners and learners across the globe why is social and financial education important, what are their dreams, and how can we make good choices for a brighter future – can you guess what their replies were?
